Way back when I started this website, I promised to give you the “details ahead of time, even if it’s just the name of the latest Britney Spears song everyone is singing…”  Guess what?  People apparently are singing a Britney Spears song.

Debuting at #1 on the Billboard Top 100, Spears’ new single titled 3 is also #1 on the Digital Songs chart and is in the top 50 on several other charts.  In other words, if you haven’t heard the new Spears single, you will soon enough.  The song is a new addition to her upcoming greatest hits album called The Singles Collection.  According to the Manila Bulletin Publishing Corporation,

“This is just the 15th time in the history of the Billboard singles chart wherein a newly released single directly debuts at number one.”¹

Well, when I started this site, I half-jokingly mentioned that I would provide you with everything you need to know, even if it’s the latest Britney Spears song, so I feel somewhat obligated to share the following information.  Spears doesn’t have a new song or album out (her most recent album is entitled Circus from 2008), but she is touring the U.S. currently.  Her tour is also called Circus (officially, it’s called “The Circus Starring Britney Spears”) and from what I’ve read, it’s much of what you’d expect: an in-shape Spears dancing, frequently changing her clothes, and lip-synching her way into the hearts of teens everywhere. The tour began on March 3 in New Orleans and continues throughout the U.S. and then London, ending in mid-June.
