Must Know For the Super Bowl
Eli Manning, last year’s SB MVP
Don’t waste your brain space memorizing those useless facts about how much guacamole is consumed on Super Bowl Sunday or how many toilets are flushed at halftime. They are pointless stats, not to mention nothing more that a rough guess at best. Instead, spend a few moments memorizing some information that might actually come up during the Super Bowl party you’ll be attending:
17 of the past 23 favorites have won the Super Bowl, so the edge goes to the Steelers. However, the Giants won last year and were 12-point underdogs, so you just never know.
If you don’t want to sound like an idiot, mention something about Pittsburgh’s dominance on the defensive end and that great defense wins championships. If you want to root for Arizona and still not sound like an idiot, say something about Kurt Warner’s (Arizona’s QB) composure and ability to throw the deep ball. Then say that you don’t think anyone on Pittsburgh will be able to contain Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona’s WR). You’ll almost sound like you know what you’re talking about.
Sunday’s matchup is known as Super Bowl 43, except that it is officially known as Super Bowl XLIII. No, there is no good reason nor an explanation for the Roman numerals.
You should definitely know that the last two Super Bowl MVPs are brothers, Eli and Peyton Manning. And that receiver who made that crazy catch with his hand and his helmet in the game-winning drive last year? David Tyree.

There is an infinite amount of information available for the Super Bowl, but if you are not a fan, read the above points, stay quiet most of the time, and you’ll get by.
