How to pronounce Pacquiao
Last night boxer Manny Pacquiao successfully defended his super welterweight title, beating Antonio Margarito to give Pacquiao a title in eight different weight classes. Even the though sport of boxing is being eclipsed by MMA the past few years, Pacquiao has become one of the stars in recent years. You might find yourself in a conversation about him this weekend, so it’s in your best interest to know how to pronounce his name:
- “pah-key-OW”1
One other thing to note about the fight: the super welterweight class is defined with a maximum weight limit of 154 pounds. Margarito was 150 pounds at weigh-in and Pacquiao weighed in at 144.6 pounds.2
