Our 200th Post! Free T-Shirt Promotion!
Beginning with a single post in November 2008, DinnerTopics.com has now amassed 200 posts! Keeping you updated and informed on everything from the Iran election to breastfeeding dolls, we continue to strive in providing you with some conversational ammo for a night on the town. The more posts we publish, the greater a resource the site becomes. Use the search box in the top right section of any page to find archived articles. Sure, Wikipedia and Google can give you millions more in relevant searches, but you want short, quick details with some personality in the writing, and that’s what DinnerTopics.com provides!
Now on to the fun stuff. Because everyone loves a freebie and everyone loves t-shirts, what better way to have a promotion than by offering a free t-shirt!
Here’s how it works: in honor of our 200th post, we are looking for 200 comments on THIS PARTICULAR POST. Once 200 comments have been reached, we will randomly choose a winner who will get the choice of any t-shirt from our DinnerTopics store. Please make sure your e-mail address is correct when submitting your comment because that is how we will contact you. In the meantime, browse the store and, hey, you might as well spend a few bucks while you’re there.
Here’s what’s in it for you: if you have a website to promote, you may submit your URL and a brief description of why people should visit your site. As long as we deem your site to be appropriate, we will accept the comment, you will get some free advertising, and maybe even a free t-shirt. It’s a no-lose situation!
If you aren’t promoting anything, simply put the word “t-shirt” in the comment or perhaps tell us how you heard about DinnerTopics.com (friend? Twitter? Facebook?). Either way, if you submit a comment, you’ll be entered in the drawing.
While you are submitting your comment, take a little time to visit the site. Bookmark us and visit often! Become our Facebook friend. Follow us on Twitter. Better yet, sign up for an e-mail subscription (also on the right side of any page on the site). Any time a new post is published, you will be notified with a link. The more people read us, the greater chance we will be putting out our 2,000th post a few years from now.

- Relatives of any DinnerTopics.com contributor are not eligible, nor are the contributors themselves.
- Winner must have a shipping address in the United States.
- If promoting your site, only ONE URL in the Comments section is permitted. Any more will be considered spam and deleted.
- DinnerTopics.com reserves the right to delete any comment (and therefore any contest entry) if the subject matter is deemed offensive or inappropriate.
- If 200 comments are not reached by 12/31/09, a t-shirt will not be given away (and I will feel unloved by your lack of support).

i’m a little confused by this site. i often see interesting, well-researched topics, but then i run across something like the paula-abdul-leaving-american-idol post. was i suddenly forwarded to TMZ? i cannot imagine ever actually discussing the paula abdul news at a dinner party with my friends or to make conversation in a bar. unless my friends were on the younger end of Gen Y, who seem to gobble up this superficial stuff, while i am solidly Gen X. While I did like the article about the breastfeeding doll and the point that this toy gets people all riled up while our young boys are targeted by promotion for violent toys, I was disappointed that the last sentence reduced it to asking what is worse for kids to be exposed to–sex or violence? Breastfeeding is NOT sex.

How has back to school time practically turned into Christmas chaos?? Kids don’t need a new every-single-thing just b/c it has been 2.5 months since they stepped inside a school building.
