High Altitude Snooze?
One topic sure to be talked about tonight is the misdirected flight that took an unexplained 150 mile detour before landing in Minneapolis. As of this posting, the crew claimed they were having “a heated discussion over airline policy and they lost situational awareness.”1 Say what?! The crew stopped responding a little over an hour before its scheduled arrival and actually landed another hour and 15 minutes after that! A flight attendant had to inform the pilots of their situation.
Heating discussion? I’m thinking there were a lot of Z’s at 37,000 feet for the two pilots. The situation is still being investigated, but this is shaping up to be one heck of a Dinner Topic.
