Drudge up your news in one place

“I just read it on Drudge.”  We have all heard that phrase uttered before, but some of us may have dismissed it because we didn’t know what the heck Drudge was.

Drudge refers to the Drudge Report, the news aggregate site found at www.DrudgeReport.com.  It’s a slightly slanted and slightly sensationalized webpage of linked headlines created by Matt Drudge.1  Its popularity is largely based on the ultra-simplistic design.

There are plenty of other places to get the day’s news, but for many, it begins and ends with the Drudge Report.  The next time you hear someone referencing Drudge, offer this tidbit: before the millions of hits received on his website, Matt Drudge started his report as a simple e-mail sent to his friends.2  The rest is history.
