Afghanistan Location
The Taliban insurgency is causing great conflict in Afghanistan, and the U.S. is making plans to deploy more troops in the area. A future post will discuss a few more details of that conflict. This is a geographical post. For those embarrassed to admit they don’t know exactly where Afghanistan is located (guilty as charged) and reading this on a mobile device, it is in the middle of Asia, directly east of Iran, just north to northwest of Pakistan. It is slightly west of China and India and the country itself is about the size of Texas but with a population of over 32 million (Source: worldfacts.us).
