Who’s Who on American Idol’s Season Finale
For those of you who do not follow American Idol, this year’s season has been an eventful one. New people were introduced, others left the show, and of course, Lee DeWyze won the title of America’s next singing sensation. With all of these tumultuous events, it is hard to keep straight who is who when talking to American Idol fans. Not to worry, however, here is a list of the key people who appeared on American Idol’s two-hour Season 9 finale.
- Lee DeWyze won. His laid-back style, his mellow voice, and his cover of U2′s Beautiful Day earned him the top spot, beating out the favorite, Crystal Bowersox.
- Crystal Bowersox came in at second place. Even though she also has a soft, bluesy vibe, the underdog came out on top. However, her rendition of Up to the Mountain moved many Americans.
- Simon Cowell is leaving. The notorious judge will abandon his position and move on to produce the United States version of The X Factor, another reality singing contest airing in September 2011.
- Celebrity guests include Will Young, Kris Allen, Dane Cook, Christina Aguilera, Carrie Underwood, and Janet Jackson.
- Atlanta’s Larry Platt, better known as the “Pants on the Ground” guy, performed a remixed version of his iconic audition (video below) along with William Hung, Season 3’s most memorable flop.
You obsessively love the show, or maybe you detest it with all your heart. Either way, now you know who’s who from American Idol’s season finale.
