TRON sequel released, fake neon suit sales escalate
Oh. My.
The sequel to the original TRON movie from 28 years ago is finally being released today, starring Jeff Bridges, reprising his role from the original. No need to rehash the plot or fill you in on the reviews because TRON: Legacy is one of those movies that you either want to see and will do so regardless of the reviews, or will stay away from under all circumstances. If you are in the latter, here are the things you need to know when your TRON-crazy friends start talking about it:
- The budget on the original TRON: $17 million.
- The budget on TRON: Legacy: about $200 million
- Tron is the name of a security program in the original movie that Bridges’ character needed to find in a virtual world.
- As expected, TRON: Legacy is being released in 3D.
- To show Bridges’ character as a young man again, the filmmakers used plenty of CGI1 to remove and digitally alter Jeff’s current appearance. The photo on the right is NOT a young Jeff Bridges.
