Things to know from last night’s AMAs

The American Music Awards were televised last night, and while there weren’t any water cooler moments, it’s probably worth noting that Justin Bieber won four awards including the all important Favorite Artist. I don’t get it; even my daughters don’t get it, but apparently millions of people love Bieber. Sounding flat and requiring an impressive gospel choir behind him, Bieber performed his song Pray live.
Wondering how artists like Bieber are winning AMAs if none of the “professional” music critics seem to like him?
“…the AMAs are determined by a poll of music buyers, and as a result is more of a representative of public opinion.”1
Other performers included The Black Eyed Peas, Pink, Bon Jovi, and many others, including an old school reunion of sorts as New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys closed out the show.
