Obama on Letterman

Last night, President Obama made an appearance on the Last Show with David Letterman.  The appearance is noteworthy in that it is extremely rare for an acting president to make an appearance on a late night television talk show.  It’s common to see politicians on the couch during the campaign process and they even pop up post-term when a cause needs promoting, but Letterman had never interviewed an acting president until last night.

As expected, the discussion was friendly (Letterman makes his disdain for the previous president quite apparent in many a monologue), mildly entertaining, and far from groundbreaking.  This isn’t the Dinner Topic that will cause the most debate at your table, but part of this site’s job is to tell you the stuff you should know, and this is something people are talking about.  To get you up to speed, a short video clip of the interview is posted below.
