NY Times Best Seller Lists

booksNothing these days is simple anymore.  If you thought calculating the BCS Standings in college football was confusing, take a look at the NY Times Best Sellers list.  I always thought there was one list, maybe two (fiction and nonfiction), but there are more subcategories than the Grammy Awards (best song, best record, best album, best vocal performance, best beat, best high note, best hair, etc.).

I believe the lists people reference and pay attention to are Hardcover Fiction and Hardcover Nonfiction.  The lists go on and on, though, with Paperback Trade Fiction, Paperback Mass-Market Fiction, Paperback Nonfiction, Hardcover Advice, Paperback Advice, Children’s Books, etc., etc.  One thing to note is that books written BY Barack Obama (Dreams From My Father, The Audacity of Hope) or ABOUT Barack Obama can be found in several of the best seller lists.
