Mena Suvari’s (and Hollywood’s) love knows no age?
Maybe it’s her unique name, but once again Mena Suvari, who hasn’t starred in anything with huge commercial success since 2000, is back in the news. Mena got married yesterday (her second marriage), this time in Vatican City. What makes this a Dinner Topic is the interesting separation in ages of her husbands. Forgot who Mena Suvari is? She played the cheerleader in American Beauty and also had a role in American Pie.
- When Mena was 21, her former husband was 38.
- Now that Mena is 31, her new husband is 25.
Six years is hardly a generation gap, but Mena managed to gain 10 years in age while lowering her husband’s age by 13. Not bad, but I think the trend stops here since a 41-year-old Mena will not be pursuing a 12-year-old husband.
As for Mena’s first marriage, the 16 to 17 year difference seems to be a trend in Hollywood. Besides Suvari’s first marriage, other notable marriages with similar age differences are: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, and Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. Even stranger: Cruise and Moore were both born in 1962 and Holmes and Kutcher were both born in 1978. Perhaps if things don’t end well, someone can introduce Ashton to Katie.
