Lingerie Football League
From the title of this post alone, I’m sure it is destined to be one of the more widely read entries on Dinner Topics, so I better not make any spelling errors. With college football officially underway last night and the NFL right around the corner, some ambitious businessmen1 are introducing their own idea of “fantasy football.”
After a successful run of Lingerie Bowls, televised at halftime on pay-per-view the past six years, the owners of the “hot girls playing football” idea have decided to expand the 15-minute special into an entire season this year.
What started as just some models wearing modified equipment for a half hour is turning into a 10-team, 20-week season culminating with a championship game (Lingerie Bowl VII), still to be played during halftime of the Super Bowl. So as not to confuse, the game will be played at the same TIME as the Super Bowl’s halftime but not at the same venue.
I could explain the rules, but I don’t think many will be watching for the strategy involved. Before you start thinking that a 20-week season is grueling, it should be noted that only one matchup will be held each Friday night. That means each team will only play FOUR games before the playoffs.
Games will be held in medium-sized arenas and cities such as New York, LA, and Chicago will be represented. In fact, it is rumored that Mike Ditka has an equity stake in the Chicago Bliss.
If you’re wondering how the league plans on making money, a single game can be viewed online for $7.95 or a season pass can be had for $125. It looks like men now have an additional option for spending those fantasy football winnings.
