Like the NBA, No “D” in Beckinsale
The new movie Whiteout debuted this weekend, featuring Underworld star Kate Beckinsale. Despite being in a mildly successful franchise and other popular films such as Pearl Harbor, Van Helsing, The Aviator, etc., people constantly mess up the spelling and pronunciation of her name. Note the spelling above, and just remember there’s no D in the name. It’s Beckinsale, and it’s pronounced just like it’s spelled.
Based on the early reviews, Whiteout is unlikely to be high on anyone’s conversation list this weekend, but at least when someone asks who that hot woman is that plays the love interest of John Cusack in Serendipity, you’ll be able to say the name right!
