Joel McHale’s Ubiquitous Week and Talk Soup Where are They Now?

Ok, so he’s not quite as high on the Google search ranks as, say, Megan Fox, but you already know who she is, right? Fox is the appropriately named actress from the Transformers movies and the new movie Jennifer’s Body, in theaters today. Back to this McHale guy.
If you’ve watched any TV or listened to the radio recently, you’ve at least heard the name Joel McHale. Why? Because he’s starring in the new NBC show Community(which premiered last night) alongside Chevy Chase and others. Adding to McHale’s ubiquitous week is the movie The Informant!. Starring a chubby Matt Damon, McHale has a role in the quirky film (premiering today) as an FBI agent.
This isn’t McHale’s first gig, though. You might recognize him from the show The Soup. Formerly known as Talk Soup, The Soupis that show on E! that rehashes the week’s crappy television and pop culture moments in snarky and (sometimes) funny fashion.
Former Talk Soup hosts include Greg Kinnear, who went on to a very successful film career. Then John Henson took over, who was very funny (my personal favorite) and… …well, he now co-hosts Wipeout on ABC. Hal Sparks and Aisha Tyler followed, both of whom found steady work afterward. Sparks had a regular role in the Showtime series Queer as Folk and can be seen in Mike Judge’s new movie Extract, while Tyler has appeared in everything from Friends to Ghost Whispererto the Adam Sandler movie Bedtime Stories.
My point? Regardless of what you think of McHale (I found the first episode of Community to be a pleasant surprise), based on his predecessors, this won’t be the last time you see him.
